Context

An MVP sellers gave up on

Rekonsile reconciles orders, fees and payouts for sellers on Amazon, Shopify and Flipkart. The MVP was hard to set up and hard to read. Of 20+ sellers we spoke to, 65% still reconciled by hand and 70% wanted automation but found existing tools too hard, so the job was making reconciliation easy to start and easy to believe. I redesigned it from scratch in 2024 with Ruthvic G., Charith K. and Mukul S.

01Payments

Knowing where the money comes from

Sales by SKU, state and city, so sellers know what's selling, and on which channel, before they reconcile anything.

Why: A channel-wise breakup per marketplace was something the competitors didn't show clearly.

Rekonsile: Top and underperforming SKUs side by side, with the key metrics for inventory calls.

02Orders

Orders and settlements, line by line

Every order, what it should have paid and what it actually paid, with receivables and deductions listed separately.

Why: 65% of sellers matched by hand, so matching is automatic and settled versus pending is the backbone of every table.

Rekonsile: Settlements, disputes and refunds in one table. Key metrics up top, filters and tags for tracing.

03Claims

From a flagged order to a settled claim

One journey: trace the order, raise the dispute, attach evidence, then follow the claim until it's settled.

Why: Finding a missing payment only helps if you can get it back, so detection leads straight into disputes and claims.

Rekonsile: Every stage of an order mapped out, so a seller can confirm the discrepancy first.

04Taxes

Tax and GST

Invoices, payments and GST squared in one place, with overdue amounts and net payables up front.

Why: Payouts aren't the end of it. Sellers still have to square invoices, payments and GST.

Rekonsile: Invoices, payments and liabilities together, with overdue amounts, GST breakdowns and net payables up front.

05Inventory

Getting inventory data in

Each file type explicit, with sample downloads and every upload's status visible.

Why: Setup was where the MVP lost people, so uploads say exactly what they need and show progress as they go.

Rekonsile: Each file type defined, with sample downloads, progress indicators and collapsible timelines per period.
